The IAM North American Awards 2023 acknowledge and celebrate the outstanding work done by asset management professionals, organizations and teams across North America. Commitment, quality and foresight are vital to the success of asset management – along with innovation, adaptation and social awareness.

These awards are an opportunity for you to showcase the excellent work you’re doing, wherever you are in and whichever industry sector you operate in. By submitting your leading examples of good asset management practice, it’s a chance for you to celebrate your successes and share them with a wider network across the professional landscape.

The Award categories are the following:

Corporate / Organization Transformation Award

This award honor the Corporate / organizational Journey and the excellence displayed by organizations to progress their asset management competence. Any organizational effort towards the Corporate Journey, regardless of the asset management maturity, is considered in this award. 

Examples of good entries: Organisations that have just embarked on their Corporate Journey and have restructured and instilled asset management principles and good practices; organizations who have defined and road-mapped asset management competency beyond ISO 55000 guidelines; organisations who have made significant efforts to restructure their communications to reduce silo mindsets and systematically build an information feedback loop across departments.

This award will acknowledge but not honor partners, e.g. consultants, who have contributed to an organization’s asset management Journey

Open to organizations who own and manage assets in the context of an asset management system; NOT open to consultants

The Winner from this category will automatically be entered into the IAM Excellence Awards that will be taking place in London on the 4th December 2023.
 

Project Achievement Award

This award recognizes the achievements and benefits realized within the last year as a result of excellent asset management principles being utilized in a project by an asset-owning organization. Achievements will have been made possible by the use of asset management systems, and the benefits will be in terms of the value realized by using those systems. 

Open to organizations who own and manage assets in the context of an asset management system AND consultants

 

Inclusive Infrastructure Award

This award honors situations where individuals, teams, and organizations have influenced policy and developed and gained approval for business cases involving key stakeholders and end users to build, modify or sustain inclusive infrastructure. 

Any infrastructure development that enhances positive outcomes in social inclusivity and ensures no individual, community, or social group is left behind or prevented from benefiting from improved infrastructure is eligible for this award.

Infrastructure plays a key role in improving the lives of people who live in our communities. The emphasis of the entries for this award should be on the following:

  • What has the change been to achieve the inclusive infrastructure, e.g., what is different and unique about what has been achieved, what hurdles were overcome, how was the community engaged, and how were their opinions taken into account
  •  How the infrastructure is inclusive, e.g., what are the benefits to communities that are typically not well represented, how have affordability, accessibility, and social equity been delivered

Open to organizations who own and manage assets in the context of an asset management system AND consultants


NxtGen Award

This award is for an individual newer to asset management (less than 5 years in an asset management focussed role) who has made an outstanding contribution to the implementation and development of asset management in any part of their organization, and who demonstrates great potential for further asset management excellence.

The Winner from this category will automatically be entered into the IAM Excellence Awards that will be taking place in London on the 4th December 2023.
